Morning Matcha Makeover

I like to start my mornings with a smoothie. I usually add plant-based protein, raw cacao, a dash of Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens, organic maca, organic PB Fit or peanut butter, and a dash of cinnamon--it's one of my favorite ways to get my day doing.

One of my other favorite morning rituals is a warm mug of matcha tea. Add a splash of some maple syrup whipped up with some coconut oil, and we're in business baby!

This morning I thought, "Why can't I just find a way to combine the two?" As Spring rounds the corner, and mornings begin to get warmer, I may not always want a cup of hot tea. An idea was born.

How about an antioxidant-rich, protein-packed cup of beauty food?! Is that a real question?!

I give you my Morning Matcha Makeover.

There are many ways to accomplish a good matcha smoothie. I will share my recipe (with a few variations) and hope it helps you find one that you love! If you make one and love it, let me know on Instagram--I'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Need:

1 banana (fresh or frozen as preferred)

1c fresh organic spinach

1/4c fresh pineapple (frozen works if preferred)

2 tsp matcha powder

1c coconut milk

Additional options:

1/2c ice cubes

2 tbsp chia seeds

2 tbsp coconut flakes

1-2 scoops protein powder

1/2c chopped fresh mango

Make it Work:

Place all the ingredients in the blender, placing all the frozen ingredients on top. Blend for approximately 30-45 seconds, or until smooth. Pour into your favorite mason jar (or wine glass) and sip from a stainless steel or glass straw. Enjoy!

Now go rock your day!

Be Healthy. Live Beautifully.
