Hello lovelies! The holidays are behind us, and winter is definitely hovering over us now! Those of us living in warmer climates, may not have the dry-heat problem that comes with the cold winter season. If we aren't careful, our surroundings can sap the life out of our hair and skin. I would like to share with you some of my DIY remedies for winter hair, helping it look beautiful, shiny and luxurious all season long!

And if you love these DIY hair masks, (you will!) you can use them in warmer months, you just may not need as much.

Chocolate is for Lovers Hair Mask

2 Tablespoons of Organic Cocoa powder

1-2 Tbsp of Almond Milk

1 Tbsp Jojoba oil

1 Tbsp Grapeseed Oil

1 Tablespoon Avocado (mashed)

1 Tablespoon Coconut oil

2 Vitamin E gel capsules (cut) OR 8-12 drops Vitamin E oil

Place milk and cocoa in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until mixture thickens. Reduce heat to low. Add oils and whisk together. Allow to cool so mixture is touchable. Add mashed avocado and whisk together. Apply to slightly damp hair.

Cover (with shower cap or plastic bag), and allow to rest for one hour (great time to read a book, catch up on your fav shows or discover new music!)

You can rinse, then wash with our regular shampoo and conditioner...

OR you can rinse with 2c water + 1/2c apple cider vinegar. This will remove the excess from the mask and retain moisture. Rinse with lukewarm/cool water. Allow to air dry as much as possible or completely, for maximum results.

Banana Smoothie Hair Mask

1 ripe organic banana

1 ripe organic avocado

1 Tbsp organic honey

1 Tbsp organic coconut oil

1 Tbsp whole oats

Place oats in food processor and blend until fine. Add remaining ingredients and blend until thick and smooth.

Cover (with shower cap or plastic bag) and allow to rest for 30-60 min. You can wash and rinse with lukewarm/cool water as per usual (or use the apple cider vinegar mixture used above). Allow to air dry as much as possible or completely, for maximum results.

*NOTE: if your hair tends to be more dry or scalp is irritated, apply all the way to your roots. If your hair is fine or typically oily, apply halfway down to tips of hair.

Spiced Maple Moisturizing Hair Mask

1 Tbsp organic sunflower oil or castor seed oil

3 Tbsp pure organic maple syrup

1 tbsp organic honey

1 tsp organic ground ginger

1 tsp organic ground cinnamon

Whisk ingredients together in a small bowl. Work into hair beginning at the tips and working your way to the roots.

Once fully incorporated, massage gently for approximately 5 minutes.

Cover (with shower cap, or plastic bag) and allow to rest at lest 30 minutes. Rinse with apple cider mixture as shown above. Allow to air dry as much as possible or completely for maximum results.

I hope you enjoy these DIY Hair Mask recipes as much as I do! These are safe to do as often as once weekly, or once a month if you choose. Have fun, have a DIY Pamper Party and enjoy with friends!

And as always, Be Healthy. Live Beautifully.
