"Skin Therapy involving wine?! Oh yes please!!"

I know, right?! That's exactly what I was thinking! And it is...sort of.

Vinotherapy, also written "Vinotherapie" describes a beauty therapy process where the residue of wine making (the pips and pulp) are rubbed into the skin. (via Wikipedia). In this case, the residue and enzyme extracts are used to formulate potent skin care products with glowing results.

"Where can I get this potent product of nature?!" You might ask, keep reading lovely. Here comes the good stuff.

I was poking around recently in a TJMaxx and happened across these curious boxes.

Having never heard of The Grapeseed Company before, I flipped the boxes over one at a time and skimmed the labels. I was pleasantly surprised when I recognized fantastic things like: coconut milk, chocolate, red wine, green tea, grapeseed, Vitamin E, almond oil, chamomile, pink grapefruit, lavender and rosemary.

Talk about refreshing! Not only did I recognize everything on the list of ingredients, but many of those are well known for their antioxidant, detoxifying and replenishing properties. Besides, "Chocolate and wine go terribly together", said no one...ever.

I cleansed my skin as usual and applied the Coco Cabernet Custom Vinotherapy Mask. This mask is in powder form and requires mixing with water, grapeseed oil, almond milk or yogurt. I stuck with water to see consistency of the mask. It smells just like you would expect: a decadent piece of dark chocolate and a smooth glass of Cabernet. It was completely tempting. The Coco Cabernet Mask took about 15 minutes to dry to my liking, and I used a warm washcloth to remove. This technique helps to remove the mask all while gently rubbing to continue the exfoliation process.

I followed with a spritz of my favorite toner, and finished with the Chamomile Grapefruit Moisturizer. This moisturizer has a calm citrus scent, and a silken texture. My skin drank it up--I needed at least 4 pumps to evenly and completely moisturize. I liked that the Chamomile Grapefruit Moisturizer absorbed well and quickly, without being sticky. This vinotherapy treatment left my skin fresh and dewey, my husband even complimented the lingering scent.

I really liked what I saw from The Grapeseed Company! My skin looked and felt refreshed, and everything smelled delicious! I wasn't crazy about how much moisturizer I needed to use as the bottle is on the smaller side and I would need to replace every 6 weeks. However, would that deter me from using other items or seeking a more powerful moisturizer, not at all! I look forward to trying more from The Grapeseed Company.

Be Healthy. Live Beautifully.
